Has Progression Magazine printed it's last and final issue?
For a quarterly magazine, it's been over a year since the last issue.

Anyone heard anything?

All good things come to an end?

I'd be shattered if it has...I haven't bought an issue for a while (a store down here in Melbourne, Australia that used to get it closed up), but it was always SOOOOO much better than that UK `Prog' magazine. It may not have looked as fancy as that one, but the articles, interviews and reviews were endlessly more satisfying than anything that more widely circulated magazine has ever offered.

I haven't heard anything to this effect, and the website doesn't mention that at all either. They can be terribly slow with production...admittedly a year is longer than usual.

I wrote John Collinge (publisher) recently and he did not reply.  Previously, he had always been very good about answering emails.  Since the last issue was a year ago, I've assumed the worst, that Progression is probably done, which would be very sad.

we stopped subscribing some time back but was always an entertaining read.

There is a phone number on the progression website. Perhaps try calling that. Especially if you paid for issues you haven't got Thumbs Up  Perhaps he just doesn't check his email. I know I haven't checked mine in months. Too much spam and far too many reminders my dick is too small and needs enlargement.

This reminds me: does Exposé still exist? Did they go digital-only? That was a great zine, too.

Awesome. I have many back issues of Expose. For eclectic album reviews, it's nigh-unbeatable.

Ok,

So apparently the official answer, so far... regarding Progression Magazine is "We don't know"

I hope John Collinge is ok.

But all good things eventually come to an end.

I last talked to John in the summer about an ad--I'm pretty sure I gave him my Visa number and paid for it, or so I thought, but it never showed up on my statement.

I've been meaning to write him as it has been a long time since then! Will send him a message tonight, but I'll try calling him soon as well.

That would be a real shame. Great magazine! I used to advertize in Progression back with my first 'real' prog band, Urshurak.

I thought the last issue (at least the one I saw) with William Shatner on the cover was really cool--have lots of past issues (I actually don't own that one, but read it at a friend's house while working in the studio)

Anyway, I did send a message--I'll call there soon if I get nothing back. Will try facebook too.

Great magazine, agreed!

Done. I am not sure what transpired with John Collinge, I too have emailed and got no answer. I called and got no answer. The magazine is not published any longer though either in hard copy or online.

Progression is NOT gone. I just talked to John this week. He has had some health issues this last year and has been delayed. He has sent the issue to the printer and says subscribers should receive a copy in the next week or so.
