As a matter of fact Nine Inch Nails' logo is an obvious homage to NON's.

They are one of the earliest industrial groups whatsoever, I'm not sure they're older than TG depending on whether you count COUM Transmissions as a previous incarnation or a separate band but NON were definitely the first in the US and have been a major influence on Laibach too.

Just goes to show I still have a lot to learn with respect to industrial music. I like Throbbing Gristle so I ought to give these guys a listen too. Thanks.

I'm somewhat familiar with NON, but didn't think he was too popular or influential. Guess I was also mistaken.

"Uncle Boyd" seems like one of those musicians who are more influential than popular.

^I imagine too that his influence is a lot more present in Europe (especially with extreme metal being more popular in Europe) even though he has influenced the aforementioned Nine Inch Nails (which may warrant his inclusion in the polls. I'm still trying to work that one out).

I've never heard of them either, if it makes you feel any better. Unless it stands for Nine Ounce Nails.

Okay so posted three more instead of two. I was reminded of the Public Image Ltd. vs. Pere Ubu pairing, which I wasn't sure where to put. At this point, we will be moving into some New Wave and noise rock groups, so the post-punk part is just about over with the exception of a couple bands. No better time to put out that pairing then this.

As always, links are in the OP.

I apologize for not being consistent the past few weeks (and for making a few major flubs with the matchups). Almost through! 4 matchups left.
