Hey, my name is Luke. I just found this website like 15 minutes ago, and prog rock, being my favorite genre of music, I decided I should get an account. I haven't been on a forum website for years, so I have a question. I was going to the prog rock lounge, but I could not make a new topic. Do I have to get permission, or just am I doing something wrong, or something else. 'Preciate it!

Sincerely,

You need more posts, like 10 or 20 or something before you can start a thread -

Welcome to PA !

Ha! Ok, well cool. It seems like a really cool place. Sadly, I won't be as active as some of you I presume. I'm playing organ and guitar a lot, schools been tough, and video games are also really important to me, but thank you for the warm welcomings! I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

^ that's a very good question Big smile . PA is a very diverse place as far as musical preferences.

On the home page there is a section, called TOP PROG ALBUMS (all subgenres), which gives you an accurate idea what the majority opinions are.

Then there is of course the same thing by the subgenre, and by the year.

On the forum, visit Prog Music Lounge .. a lot of informative stuff there :)

Welcome Luke! If you like Prog this is the place to be. There's a lot of diversity in the musical tastes but most members surely enjoy or at least respect the 'classics'. If you like ELP and Kansas you will find many like fellows here, two of my favourite bands.
Seeing that you also play, you may also be interested in the 'tech talk' and 'music and musicians exchange' forums.

Tip: before starting a topic do a search, there may be another open thread about the same topic and if so it is advisable that you contribute there instead of starting a duplicated thread.

If you like Kansas and ELP you should check out the current prog polls (Micky has started them) and you'll get an idea of the diversity of opinion on those and many more bands.....

......on second thoughts...Confused

I looked at that, but I don't think I have enough posts to vote. That's I think what it said at least.
