Tull all the way!

f**king Tull it seems it will be then...

We will have a rematch of this in a couple of years, perhaps some time for the little proggies around here to realize there is a bigger and better version of prog out there than the 2nd rate English stuff you grew up listening to. hah. LOL

Here... let everyone's favorite barrel of laughs say it best. Clap

I'll go with PFM. Tull has many fantastic moments but a very large chunk of their overall discography bugs me. I've never been a huge PFM fan but they''ve actually impressed me most with the quality of their "inferior" stuff. Hard to explain.

That's perhaps the most biased and badly researched "review" I've seen. It reads more like a troll-piece than a critique with any perspective whatsoever.

Jethro Tull.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Out of the big 3 of RPI, PFM is the one I enjoyed the least, while there's a lot I love from Tull, so it's them for me.

substitute TAAB for Aqualung and that's my feeling

Tull were essentially a blues/folk rock band that dabbled with prog.

PFM made some of the most absolutely stunning symph prog that was on a different planet to even Yes and Genesis for a time. They even managed to incorporate some Gentle Giant into their style to add another dimension.

I'd say almost say the same, but in my case it's L'Isola Di Niente.
Almost, because Going For The One and the first Keys To Ascension live album are the exception to this (in my ever so humble taste of course Smile )

I would have likely voted for PFM, but in a misguided attempt to expand my two-album RPI collection I bought their PFM In Classic – Da Mozart A Celebration , and listening to it killed something inside me

LOL I haven't heard A Celebration, but maybe that's why Jethtull has so many more votes! I'm surprised at the results. The highest-standing Rock Progressivo Italiano band vs. the highest-standing Prog Folk band, thought for sure the Italianos would win.

I love the early Tull, but after the years TAAB grew... Eh... Dull. Same goes for Aqualung, 'fraid to admit. Wind-Up isn't the ending-epic it should've been. All opinions though.

PFM's timeless. Every song from the 3 classics I love, love, love. The vocals may be a bit wacky on Is My Face On Straight but those instruments are for sure solid. That accordion towards the end is... Just that accordion solo beats Jethro Tull.
