Perhaps my favorite Miles song...I have to vote for it.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Neither Stern Smile

By the time the Get Up With It came out Miles Davis had changed the course of music more times than he could remember; I guess he had run out of room for maneuver?

The Soft Machine has never been able to capture my attention; I have one of their albums (somewhere) .. or is it two? but I can't remember where it is, or what it's called (#-something?), or what the cover looks like.

Miles Davis, easily. A brilliant track from a brilliant album.

Rated X is something else altogether, and a great tune, but I actually prefer Soft Machine this time, which is really strange since I am such a big fan of Miles and have only heard one song from the Softs that I like - this one, Chloe and the Pirates.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Although I dearly love both Miles and The Soft Machine, I can't get into this stage of Miles' career.  On the other hand, I dig every song on the Six album.  Chloe and the Pirates it is.
I am the funkiest man on the planet!

Soft Machine. 'Six' is one of their best.
