Topic: Rock Bottom (favourite song ) Posted: December 22 2014 at 10:04 |
My favourite album for the moment and i find it hard to pick a favourite song from this album, but it is not impossible, lots of heart wrenching songs, singed and played with great passion and meaning, probably silly to make a poll but i can't stop to think about it, i have to talk about it and reflect about it, to lett out my love for the music on it.
I Like Sea Song, Alifib and Alife

Little Red Riding Hood Hit the Road, but I very nearly voted for Sea Song. I might have overplayed the latter song because I loved it so much, so it's not quite as magical any more. BUT! I encourage everyone on this thread to check out the Robert Wyatt live album from Drury Lane 1973 (credited to "Robert Wyatt and Friends") which features an all star cast playing the album in its entirety plus some other songs. Great renditions of the Rock Bottom tracks.

I can't believe there isn't a single vote for "Little Red Robin Hood Hit the Road". Mike Oldfield at his absolute best ... that I've heard thus far. I could have voted for "Sea Song", but ... the former needs my vote.

Love Alfreda Benge's vocals on "Alife", so that's where my vote went.

Sea Song (the moog solo at the end is just so uplifting). Could vote for any track of this amazing album. I've spun this one often over the last 25 years and it never wears out its welcome.

Wonderful, wonderful album. I went for 'Sea Song' in the end as I never tire of hearing it but there is so much more to enjoy right down to Ivor Cutler's cameo appearance. Great live version on the Drury Lane album too!

Little Red Robin Hood Hit the Road.

When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.

One of my very favourite albums, and would vote for all, but went with "Little Red Robin Hood Hit the Road".

I agree.
I feel kinda silly now for voting for one part of this album over the others. Besides I think of the B-side as one long suite anyway.
