Cabaret Voltaire vs. Suicide

Combining jarring aesthetics with pop sensibilities, Cabaret Voltaire were a band influential in industrial and electronic music.

With their cold version of synthpop, Suicide was very influential in the scenes aforementioned.

Oh lord... I need more time with both of these.  Both have gone straight over my head so far.  Except I will say that "Frankie Teardrop" by Suicide is one of the scariest songs I've ever heard.  As for Cabaret Voltaire, all I have is one of their very early experimental things and I haven't really gotten into it yet, plus it's probably not too representative of what they're all about viz a viz these polls.

Voltaire. From the dance industrial of Extended Play to the dark experimentalism of Three Mantras and Red Mecca, they had it all.

Now, Suicide was my intro to industrial and synthpunk, and their debut is still a favourite of mine. And how influential they were! Synthpunk, synthpop, new wave, dark wave, post-punk, industrial, electronica, a Bruce Springsteen album... many genres owe at least a small debt of gratitude to that crazed duo.

But CV.

Never really got Suicide (not ready quite yet Big smile) .  I've always like the Cabs and I saw them live so I am very biased.

Love Red Mecca and some of their dance stuff like 'I Want You' .

UK wins again...Wink
