Great album, which gets regular spins in our home. Though I am not the Hawkwind fan that my hubby is, I do have a lot of time for the albums they released with Simon House as a band member.

Hawkwind's classic would have to be Space Ritual or Hall of The Mountain Grill, but Warrior was their artistic highpoint. And Lemmy did mighty fine on this last outing with the band.

Favourite Hawkwind album by lightyears, possibly 5-stars. "The Demented Man" is just gorgeous with the lazy melody over the top. For some reason, it sounds really good in hot weather... Glad to see it's their highest rated album on PA, but still needs more recognition so thanks for making this thread! Smile

It's good, but I can't really see its greatness like many can.  I'm a big fan of pretty much every 70s Hawkwind album (as well as the 6-7 or so albums of theirs I have from the 80s to the present), but Warrior is not one of my favorites.

Just okay to me. Don't play it that often.

Prefer Space Ritual and HOTMG, but all this era is great, I think it's reputation benefits from being unavailable for so long.

Simply FANTASTIC album - truly Progressive, quite unique masterpiece of the 70's. Everything from Lemmy's opening bass-line of Assault & Battery through to the hard-rockin' Kings Of Speed, an engaging and exiting listen. Supersonic recitals, Middle-Eastern flavours, spacey Prog, just brilliant. I was fortunate enough to have come across the original Shield-shaped fold-out-cover in the early-90's. That just added another dimension to the entire affair.

The first 5 are all good.....I suppose that one and Hall are their best but they have always been hit or miss for me; some really good tracks and then some mediocre ones next.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.
