Ra is a band that I started listening to quite awhile back with my work on MMA as a collaborator, and I thought I'd share them with you. They were formed in 1998 by frontman Sahaj Ticotin as an alternative metal band.

Over the years they have used several exotic middle-eastern influences in their music, very unlike many other metal bands out there. I thought that, even though they are likely to be turned down for being too alternative, I thought I'd give them a shot anyway.

Some Youtube videos I've scraped together:

Again, unlikely for addition but I thought I'd try. Big smile

Prog Related is a sub that only collabs can suggest new acts for.
Add to that, if the band in question has to have any sort of chance to get in, it needs to have influenced or in some radical way have left it's mark on our much beloved genre. It isn't enough to "sound kinda proggy"Smile

Then I guess you could say I'm asking for your guys' opinion on addition, not "add this now". Trust me, that attitude wouldn't be something I'd be going for only on the basis of my opinion. Wink

Well I don't hear anything that suggests this band should be in prog related. Like I mentioned earlier, for a band to be included in that part of the site, it needs to have made it's mark on prog rock or similarly have influenced it in some way.
If we just went with bands that have some proggish moments, we'd end up with the biggest sub being prog related - as there literally were 1000s of bands straddling the fence during the 70s. We don't want that to happen though, which is why prog related has become such an exclusive club (and rightfully so imho).

Does a band have to be influential (or made a big impact) to be related to the genre? of course the band isn't really that prog in the first place, but this thread isn't saying "add now", it's just a suggestion.
