Valerinne were formed in 2012 in Bucharest by Alexandru Das (guitar), Liviu Stoicescu (bass) and Mircea Smarandache (drums). Their music invariably features an heavy fuzz bass on which the guitar travels through rich soundscapes, making simultaneous use of multiple effects and delays. This set up results in a wide coverage of the sonorous spectrum, unusual to a three-piece, even to the Math Rock genre.

Songs can muster different ambiances, not at all consigned to the traditional introspective moods of Post Rock. From quiet and dreamy movements, the band is able to develop dramatic and epic moments of great intensity, somewhat reminiscent of the Wetton/Brufford Crimson era.

Valerinne released their first LP in 2012, entitled Kunstformen der Natur. Arborescent followed in 2013, diving into gloomier sounds. The band was in studio during the last weeks of 2014, recording the soon to be released Monumenta LP. Considering live footage recently uploaded to the web, it seems the band will make use of the synthesiser as lead instrument for the first time in Monumenta.

In consequence of the recent update to the VAT law, the band decided to make all their material available for free.

Pretty good stuff and they sure seem to fit. I will add them to our charts.

However, I have to warn you: my team is currently 'under construction' so to speak so don't expect them to get added in the very near future.

Interesting. This is the first time a suggestion of mine is considered.

Is there any way I can help? Either adding this band to the charts or with the team?

Valerinne released today their third LP, entitled Monumenta. The first "single" is called Terra Amata:

The first thing that struck me listening to these tracks is that these guys don't sound even remotely Romanian.  Then again, I've never heard any Romanian post-rock bands so what do I know ...
Anyway they seem like a good fit for PR/MR.  Their live stuff seems quite improvisational and at times undisciplined.  I'm not a PR/MR expert by any means but that strikes me as uncharacteristic of those genres.  The studio work is more structured but also not a lot of variety.  That could just be the choice of samples, but thought I'd make the comments since I'm posting anyway.
