I'm very sad to hear of Bianchi's passing. I still can't help but feel that a SC would have eliminated this tragedy. There's always the backlash statement that F1 doesn't need American style cautions to stymie the race.

It's my experience that American racing series with two position passes a lap, can well afford a break in the action. Something a European series that can only make a pass in the pits cannot.

Had a good laugh at the reason for KV racings fine after Bourdais was slightly under weight after Milwaukee last week. He burnt off too much from the tyres doing donuts!LOL

Another exciting Indycar race from Iowa tonight!  RHR gets himself back into victory lane, while the top 3 guys in points entering the night have all sorts of issues, allowing Graham Rahal to take over the 2nd position after the race.  JPM still maintains a 42 point lead, I believe, which, after his race ended tonight after 9 laps, he's probably thanking the racing gods.  Honestly, his point lead should be gone, but an issue with Dixon and then Helio's car just seemingly falling off at the end, he's able to really not lose anything.

Also, besides all the awesome battles in that race tonight, Sage Karam was a mad demon tonight and charged to a third placd finish, and he pissed Ed Carpenter right the hell off. LOL

Missed the race but seems JPMs bad luck was countered with some good luck and still holds a decent points lead.
Graham Rahal has hauled himself into 2nd place in the standings! Never thought I'd see that.

Glad Newgarden had a great finish, hope he goes out strong and can pick up some spots.

Well I picked a terrible race to sleep through (also I couldn't find a replay anywhere so just caved and looked up the results)
What the hell happened to produce these results!?

Ferraris passed both Mercedes in the start, Hamilton went off track on first lap, dropped below tenth, and again later hit someone I don't remember who and had to do an extra stop, Kimi lost KERS(?) and had to quit, Nico hit Ricciardo's(?) front wing and had a puncture.

Ferrari seemed pretty fast against Mercedes k, they had a pretty decent gap to Nico from the beginning, Kimi would have been second if he hadn't lost power.

Well that is quite eventful. Sad I missed that comedy of errors from Merc.

Seems to have had no real impact on the points though, Lewis still finished ahead of Nico

Ture. Nico was second for quite a while until Ricciardo tried to pass him.

Nico was massively disappointing today. Hamilton was the fastest person out there but Rosberg couldn't live with the Ferrari's but his clash with Ricciardo 10 laps from home was just a racing incident. Hulkenburg was again very impressive, fighting Kvyat and Bottas for 6th until his front wing failed, quite a surprise given teh high downforce nature of the track. And both McLarens in the points, fighting on equal terms with Torro Rosso, Perez and Lotus, a shame Button was left on the hard medium tyres after the safety car so no surprise Alonso and Grosjean were able to get past on the softs.

Lol at Maldonado, 3 drive though penalties today!

3!? WOW

Pastor is really improving! LOL

Hulk is the man, I dont know what openings will be there next year but I hope he can get a seat in a quality ride, he's been a beast for years now.
I wont think much of McLaren given the nuttiness of the race but hey, good results especially that 5th. Though sounds like maybe they can at least compete with some of the mid tier teams now

Don't expect it to last, Spa and Monza next, real power tracks that will hurt the Honda engine. I doubt they'll be in the hunt for points again until Singapore.

I get the feeling Hulk may end up never getting a top seat, which will be a real shame because he's driving brilliantly, and absolutley destroying Perez at the moment.

Good F1 race this morning, although I would've preferred Button finishing ahead of Alonso (but that's just my JB fanboyism coming out LOL, still happy to see double points finishes for McLaren).  What were the Merc drivers thinking today?  They both drove sloppy and have results to show for it.

And Kyle Busch won his third race in a row and fourth in the last five races and his biggest win of his career today at Indy, holding off Joey Logano in a GWC finish to secure it.  I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but if this is all because he broke his leg, then maybe that was the best thing that has happened to him, as bad as that sounds.  Gordon was screwed, in his final Brickyard start, when Bowyer spun in front of him, causing him to crash into the wall as he tried to avoid it.  Not the way I wanted his final season to go.

Yeah, Kyle is certainly on a roll.

No doubt he'll make it in the chase now. Frankly, I expected him to all along, even with the new points system where you can't make up ground easily. I'll be rooting for him to win it all.

Sebastian Vettel
The Hungarian GP was so good, I watched it three times. Great to see Vettel with another win and the glimmer twins (Hamilton and Rosberg) take themselves out of contention with dumb mistakes. Did they forget that they were fighting for the title?  And kudos for a Alonso in 5th! (Without having to get out and push!)

After being untouchable, and some superb luck mixed in, for the whole season with 2 races left to go JPM is only 9 points ahead of Graham Rahal. Certainly not who I expected to be a title contender! To the shock of no one Scott Dixon is not terribly far behind, 34 points. Can easily be made in 2 races.

Helio and Power have fallen too far behind so it's a 3 person show now.
Should be a helluva last 2 races!

It's amazing how well Rahal is doing this year, I've seen more than a few comments along the lines of "Who is this person and what has he done with Graham Rahal?", it's certainly caught everyone by surprise.LOL

Should we even talk about the possibility of a BS spin by Karam?  Where he did it is suspect, along with him being a teammate to Dixon.
