No fanfare, no snark, just Genesis.  Genesis is the reason I'm on this site today and will always be one of my favorite bands of not the favorite.

sure.... I have all the time in the world to discuss men's and women's  fashion.. a particular fetish of mine actually that only got worse once I got up with Raff and got exposed to Italian fashion.  We both damn near died once when I stopped her, when walking the streets of Rome, and I told her I had been spending the last half an hour not looking at the sights... but at MEN'S SHOES!!

Jon Anderson? that is an easy one to explain though.. it was the 80's LOL....  all is forgiven in hindsight. The only thing good in fashion and style to come out of the 80's was.. duh...a no brainer..

BIG HAIR!!!

hell yeah Big smile

at least Anderson wasn't.. unlike ..ahem some...  caught up in the Urban Cowboy craze of the early 80's.  ShockedLOL

yeah... and I've been a cowboy boot/hiking boot (depends on the social situation) kind of guy.

the notion of me finding men's shoes of interest really put the zap on my head.

I could benefit from taking more of an interest in my shoes.

If it was seventies it could be a draw for me

80's includes Drama does it not and that is much better than anything Genesis did in that era. Not a massive fan of 90125 but then I never really liked the self titled Genesis album that much apart from Home By The Sea and That's All . Abacab is a bit of a curio , about half brilliant and half total tosh. Trouble is there is no album to compare from Yes at the same time assuming we are pitting Duke against Drama. Invisible Touch has some good tracks as does The Big Generator

Drama 5 stars v Duke 4 stars
........             v Abacab 3 stars
90125 3 stars v Genesis 3 stars
TBG 2 stars v Invisible Touch 2 stars

it shall be (drum roll) - GENESIS!

edit: are we judging the 80s work of the two bands? then the answer would be Yes

overall activity - Yes vs Genesis - then it's Genesis

90s Yes vs 90s Genesis - it's still Genesis (only Talk was good from Yes), and I admit I like both We Can't Dance and Calling All Stations. Embarrassed

Genesis is waaay too good, even though they never could do Close to the Edge (although they got close with "Supper's Ready")! LOL

Perhaps I'll just stick to Rush, Zappa, Kansas, and Crosby, Stils & Nash. Wink

Just choosing a few countries at random:
Netherlands - Focus, Supersister,
Canada - Rush, Harmonium,
Ireland - Horslips, Fruup, Mellow Candle,
Ghana - Osibisa

Plus a few from Italy, Germany, and the USA LOL

seriously?

can everyone show the stack of Supersister, Fruup, and Mellow Candle albums they bought in the 70's?

where were these bands during the polls?

i know it existed elsewhere ... but the vast majority of prog was from the UK at that time ..

on a side note - am i the only one that continuously types prig instead of prog ?
