I noted with interest that Jerry Goodman is not in the archives.  A rock violinist, he was originally with Flock and later with John McLaughlin.  He has/had a solo career and two albums I can recommend are "On The Future of Aviation" and "Ariel".

Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra = awesome .

What a great combo of Jerry and John McLaughlin blasting solos back and forth (and with Billy Cobham on drums!). I saw them live a couple of times. Shortly after the Mahavishnu days Jerry did an album with Jan Hammer (keyboardist for Mahavishnu) called "Like Children". He also did some guitar work on that one. A bit weak, but interesting. Is he doing anything these days?

I never heard the Flock, almost bought a used LP a couple of years ago but it had a big scratch on it. It had a big picture of Jerry on the back, so obviously he was the main selling point. Is it prog rock, folk-rock, straight rock?
