My least fave from the '67-'79 period. Prefer More much more. For such an experimental band at the time a lot of the songs seem so 'normal'. I've always loved 'Burning Bridges'/'Mudmen' though.

That's a good one, especially with "The Gold, It's In The...", Wot's... Uh, The Deal?", "Mudmen", "Childhood's End", "Free Four", "Stay".

It was recorded quickly while they were also working on Dark Side Of The Moon.  It's great

They might not have had the chance to fiddle around with the compositions for years unlike Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, but it's a fine album.
I prefer it to Meddle and it shows the band at their most commercial.
A far more satisfying soundtrack than "More" and not a blueprint for DSOTM, but you can hear the elements that would be refined. 
It's the band at their most relaxed though.

This and Animals are their best albums then Meddle, saucerful and wall
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I love Obscured by Clouds, it shows Pink Floyd really rocking. I think it has a great balance between harder rock and softer melodies.

Underrated by most people. This along with Meddle are two amazing releases that don't get as much recognition as they should. Not that Meddle is the topic of this thread but I'll just point out that I'll take Meddle over The Wall on most days.

I think I'm just used to dealing with people who think DSOTM and The Wall are the two best Pink Floyd albums. If I mention Obscured by Clouds (or Meddle) to them, I get this blank stare until I explain to them that Pink Floyd existed before DSOTM came out.

if i were to rank PF's albums from the 70s (from favorite to least favorite), the Wall would go last, not because it's bad or anything, but I find evrything else they did back then way more enjoyable, I even dare say superior to The Wall. Even Atom Heart mother and ObC. And I do like The Wall a lot!

There was just so much more experimentation previous to The Wall and experimentation is something that Pink Floyd were masters at. Echoes is my favorite PF song by far and I get chills listening to it. Nothing on The Wall puts me into that same state.

well, PF did their best work while they worked together and interacted. Echoes was great because it was a collective effort and one can notice that.
