Topic: Pink Floyd vs Supertramp Posted: February 04 2015 at 18:35 |
Two kind of related albums: those were the first albums after Roger Waters/Hodgson left their respective band. Also, John Halliwell plays on AMLOR and David Gilmour plays on BWYB. Which one do you prefer... or hate less?

I guess PF, but Steve's pass is much more correct.

I'll take Floyd for the win, Bob.

I like both just fine, but the PF hits me deeper than Supertramp (with the possible exception of Cannonball).

I like them about equally, but I give the edge to Brother Were You Bound. However, Cannonball is crap.

Floyd. Learning to Fly is the second best Gilmour song with High Hopes being the only song imo to reach the mastery of the Golden Days.

AMLOR has a bunch of good songs. It's more a Gimour solo album than a PF effort but Dogs of War is great.

'Reason because it was delightfully atmospheric and conceptual. Brother' was more fragmented with some weak sister-songs included in the mix. Thanks, though, for David Gilmour's guest spot on the latter.

I didn't vote earlier: AMLOR has its moments but it hasn't a single track that I particularly like; on the other side I really like the BWYB title track, one of my favourite Supertramp songs. Another vote for Supertramp then. Thanks for voting

Brother Where You Bound is an outstanding (though unfortunately very underrated) album, whereas AMLOR is a lacklustre effort to say the least.

AMLOR; I liked it in 1987, and this hasn't changed over the past 28 years. I have no feelings for Brother, for some reason.
