Thank you for what you've presented on this website!!! I did not dare to do so!

Here is a brief information about my art:

The musical palette of Vyacheslav Potapov (VP) consists of jazz fusion with elements of progressive rock.  Some of the influences which inspire Popatov’s work include the music of bands like A Triggering Myth and Finnegan’s Wake.

His debut album, “Sound Dependence,” was released in 2003.  The musical style in “Sound Dependence” was marked with psychedelic music influences.  A year later, he began to change genres, and by 2004, he recorded two more albums: “There Is An End To Everything” and “At Sunset of Days.”

In 2005, a new disc, “The Lilac Garden,” was released, and by 2007, “Moonstone (The Lunar Stone),” had been published.  The style of the latest album had matured into jazz-rock direction.  By 2012, with the release of “Waterworld,” that sound had become crystalized.  Since then, several new releases have appeared, continuing in this style.  All of VP’s albums are recorded in his private studio, which is located in Kazakhstan’s cultural center and former state capital, Almaty.

I've been listening to all 6 albums. The 1st album "Sound Dependence" is much in the psychedelic vein, and I didn't like it much (I'm not a fan of psych). The next 5 ones are in prog fusion genre. I like the music and I think VP deserves to have an entry in Progarchives.

Music of VP does not fit into the conventional classification of prog.
It is a very diverse and interesting.  Something from Eclectic Prog, something from Fusion, something from Avant-Prog.
But in any case this is a true 100% experimental prog!

I've had a chance to review the albums, and really, they do deserve an entry into ProgArchives, as this stuff is very proggy and fusiony.  Plus, we really need to start looking to help out music from out-of-the-way places like Kazakhstan.

If anyone with access to the collab zone would be kind enough to check on the current status of the evaluation for us, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Smile

It's very strange: VP is on progfreak with his true name Vyacheslav Potapov, added 2 years ago by Rivertree.
It looks like he has never been added to any chart. There's no trace of him in the Eclectic chart or in any other PA chart.
I'll give a word to the Eclectic team

That's indeed very strange considering we had this in Eclectic just six months ago:

Here's the progfreak link, in case a team which uses that site is asked to evaluate him: http://progfreak.com/Vyacheslav-Potapov-163345.html.

^ Yes I understand that - JR/F don't use progfreak either...but a team that does use the site might become involved at some stage. Thumbs Up
