Finally an album by Rush I could fully enjoy.

Don't get me wrong, I've listenend extensively to 70's Rush and 2112 is okay-ish. But in the 80's the songs were much more coherent, the drumming better, the sound was better and Geddy's voice got less high-pitched.

Rush would reach their top with Power Windows and Hold Your Fire.
When I come to think of it, I guess Grace Under the Pressure is the best.

Weird thing for them to give you $H|t about--The Police are one of the best bands ever. ;-)

Anyway, I love Grace Under Pressure, but it and Power Windows would probably be close to the bottom of a ranked list of Rush albums for me.  But it's difficult to rank so many albums when you love all of them.

I really like it, it's not my favorite but still really solid. Distant Early Warning, Afterimage, The Enemy Within, and The Body Electric are all great songs.

The pretty good album, nowhere near Rush 70's records but it has very good moments. My favorite tracks are: Between the Wheels, Red Sector A and Distant Early Warning. BTW a track Red Lenses sucks.
Any Rush album after GUP is meh for me.

Something awful had happened between Signals and this one.   It might've been Terry Brown's absence or maybe someone convinced them to step into the new world of rock, but whatever it was it indicated just how far prog rock had slid down the hill.   A very bad year for a lot of longtime Rush fans, 1984 was.

I think you're comment about Terry Brown says a lot. They've gone on record saying that they wanted to move away from him and try new producers. I think the sound of GuP really reflects that wanting to change attitude.
It always struck me as odd that despite wanting to constantly change their music and always try new things, they hung on to Broon for as long as they did. I'd love to see them do another album with him as producer though. It's been so long since they worked with him that it might seem new and fresh
