Twonguitar gods, Whos riffs have melted manys membranens, and Whos leads are like the DNA of metall guitar.

I became a Pantera fan after hearing Cemetery Gates. It was the guitar riffs that drew me in and made me a fan to this day.
No guitarists that I've heard could go higher up on the fretboard and make their guitar scream the way Dimebag could.
He wasn't a "jammer", he knew exactly where his riffs were and where they were going to next.

Amen brother! I always considered Dimebag to be one of the greatest guitar players ever, simple as that.
I like to see Dimebag in polls but Jerry Cantrell?? With all do respect and I really like the guy, they are really not in the same league.

^^ I thought about that this morning. I'm not really sure which metal guitarist could come close to Dimebag in a poll. I'll have to give it some more thought.

I prefer AiC as a band to Pantera, but man I can't express enough of how good Dimebag is. Should always be put with legends like Hendrix, Page, and Clapton.
There is no dark side in the moon, really... Matter of fact, it's all dark...

Dimebag is a shredmeister for sure. But I find Cantrell more inventive, able to come up with unusual riffs and chords. I prefer Cantrell, one of the standout guitarists of 90s alt rock/metal. Cantrell v/s Thayil would have been more interesting and more difficult for me. Dimebag was covering well trodden ground, albeit with spectacular chops.
