LIARS - "WIXIW" (2012)

My favorite Liars album, also their most mellow one.

I haven't forgotten about them, it's just that out of all the music I've promised to investigate there's stuff ahead of that scene on the list. Basically, right now I like my psychedelic music a tad heavier than that.

1970s Scorpions, as in the first album and Uli Jon Roth's entire tenure with the band starting with this LP should be mandatory listening for anyone with an ear for early heavy metal that's still half rooted in progressive rock and psychedelia with plenty of adventurous songs full of but also lots of powerdriving hard riffs.

Nice, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

My remark is mostly predicated on the fact that even the most underground oriented Best of The '80's lists haven't ever mentioned a Paisley band.

The Days of Wine and Roses is definitely worth checking out, but not for any psychedelia.
