Swans - To Be Kind
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

^ Nice! Cool A masterpiece, IMO. It's the only Mastodon album I can get into though. Ouch Their others that I've heard I've found fairly unimaginative in comparison.

My favourite (from those that I know and I don't know too many) would be Burzum's Filozofem.

Don't have a particular favourite of the genre, but I agree this is damn good!
Damn right!! Clap

Then:

Ulver - Kveldssanger (1996)
Ulver Kveldssanger album cover

I love this one as well. Clap

Now:

Ulver - Nattens Madrigal - Aatte Hymne til Ulven i Manden (1996)

First listen.
And how did you like it?

Kveldssanger is one of my favourite Ulver albums. Top 7 at least I'd say, along with Bergtatt, Blood Inside, Perdition CityShadows of the Sun, Terrestrials and Wars of the Roses. Love it!

Enjoyed my first listen to Nattens Madrigal quite a bit, but I don't think it'll ever become a favourite on the level of those seven previously mentioned, as I'm not that heavily into black metal.

Heard of, but never listened to, Burzum. Might have to check that Filosofem album out one day. Thanks!

Anyway, before:

tr-Ond and the Suburban Savages - s/t (2007)
tr-Ond &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; the Suburban Savages tr-Ond And The Suburban Savages album cover
Collaboration between members of Panzerpappa and The Samuel Jackson Five. A bit more straightforward than, but almost as good as, the last two PP albums, IMO. Fans of PP should definitely check this out if they get the chance. Fans of TSJF too probably, but I'm not familiar with them at all, so I can't really say. LOL

Now:

Aratta Rebirth - Red Hail (2009)

First full listen. Multi-national fusion ensamble lead by Armenian jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan. His playing style, reminiscent of that of Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, is perfectly complemented by Areni Agbabian's siren-like vocals sung in Armenian, and also some nifty drum, sax and guitar works. Interesting blend of fusion and Armenian folk, sometimes beautifully calm, other times chaotic and explosive. Highly recommended! Thumbs Up

I have this and Once More Round The Sun, both are on an even keel for me (maybe Crack The Skye is a bit more Prog), but they have yet to 'prove themselves' to earn a fourth star. Am I missing something ?

I hadn't listened to it in ages and almost forgotten how good it is!

"Dedicato A Frazz" by RPI band Semiramis released in 1973. This Italian
group was not just another one album band. What sets them apart is the
fact that they were in their teens when they recorded the album.
