Soo goood.

Some of the more punkier music i listen to that stick with me. Typically i like my post-punk more shoegazy, but this just works for me.
Have you tried Marquee Moon yet?

That's another great one. It's everywhere so i bought it on CD a while ago. For some reason i don't listen to it much, but i like it.

^^That's been the one that's hit the spot for me most recently. The guitars are so tasty on it.

Also (just throwing things out there), have you listened to REM's debut?

Currently listening to various KAJAGOOGOO things, this is such a new discovery to me - Nick Beggs was already a 'super-star' bassist before he decided on forming Kajagoogoo - he already admired the likes of Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clarke, Mike Rutherford.........really, all the great Prog musicians of the time........
Sure his Kaja band ticks all the right boxes for the 80's New-Wave scene, but cheezeball though it may be, listening intently prove of professional complexity, and a natural understanding of musical forms, be it Prog, Punk or whatever happens to be 'in vogue'. We, Progheads, know Beggs is Swilson's choice, he is also Steve Hackett's bassist. The guy has come leaps and bounds in his career. I don't dig Pop music, but, listening to Kajagoogoo, really shows me that there are some great musicians playing commercial cheeze. And all that aside, try playing these Kaja tunes along with bass................bleedin' hard, I tell ya'........

Surprised at how well Ms. Susan Janet Ballion and cohorts pulled off the transition from artsy post-punk noisemongers to nuanced psychedelic pop just adapted to a rather morose aesthetic. This album applies that latter songwriting style to the more austere sound palette making it a rather subtle listening experience, but with a lot of depth in the arrangements that isn't readily apparent.
"The past is not some static being, it is not a previous present, nor a present that has passed away; the past has its own dynamic being which is constantly renewed and renewing." - Claire Colebrook
