Just realized that the band seems to have placed the more conventional speed/thrash metal numbers on the first half (well - as conventional as Voivod are capable of being) of the album, the second half being taken up by the more experimental numbers making use of all kinds of insanely convoluted tension-and-release composition schemes I'm surprised they pull off at all.
