Some consider this album the last classic album from Wishbone Ash. The band's come a long way from Argus with There's the Rub, but I really like it. What's tour take on There's the Rub?

However, I really like Persephone and Hometown also.
The others are decent, but not 'up there' with the others.
A little more in the 'Classic Rock' direction, if you will.

Really? I guess that I can believe that based on the fact that I can't see what anyone would like about Captain Beyond. There's The Rub is a decent album. I like it.

I have never heard this one, I suppose I need to pick this one up.  

I only have the first 3 albums and heard some of 4.  Does this one sound like the earlier stuff or did they go into any new directions?

Ted Turner left after Wishbone Four and he was replaced by Laurie Wisefield, who was a more flashy and rockier guitarist. So the sound changed a bit but there was still some decent stuff released between 1974 and 1980. There was also some dross - avoid "Locked In" at all costs. However, There's The Rub is a pretty decent effort. Persephone is a beautiful song with some melodic lead guitar playing, whilst Lady Jay harks back to the style of songs like Valediction and Throw Down The Sword. FUBB is a 10 minute instrumental workout with some great bass and lead guitar passages.
 
I's also recommend from this lineup, No Smoke Without Fire and the live album, Live Dates 2.

There's the Rub is just about my favourite album by any artist.

All tracks IMHO are stunning; the harmony lead guitars go to another level compared to their previous outings and the production is simply ahead of its time for 1974.

I never tire of it.
