I'm a forum fan and there are so few of them left now days, what with the mass Facebook takeover.

I'm a follower of many kinds of Prog, from the New Trolls through to Atheist via every thing in between.

Some favourites are:
The Enid
The Rocket Scientists
Devin Townsend
Ozric Tentacles
Anathema
After Forever
The Flower Kings
Therion
Ayreon
Symphony X
Iron Maiden
Anglagard
Ohhhhhh & so many others

The thing that amazes me is how many other bands I've never even heard of are listed on this site. I look forward to exploring the almost infinite Prog well.

Any top recommendations for me to look into gratefully received.....

Hello and Welcome !

It's very active forum and it may take a while to find your way around, but there's good people here always eager to provide guidance, or learn something new - everyone's got a unique angle on things, and I'm sure you're no different.

Welcome! A nice list you have there, quite varied Big smile

A top recommendation from me would be Seven Impale, but not sure if that would match your liking...

Hello and welcome to PASmile! My tastes run to rather unconventional fare (which for many people would not even qualify as prog), but I also love Iron Maiden and a lot of classic hard rock/metal. If you are interested in exploring more obscure stuff, click on the second link in my signature (the one that says Weekend ProgWink), and you will find a lot of recommendations for new music available for streaming.

Classic hard rock & metal is where I started (then moving over to a more prog style of stuff in the last 15-20 years or so)

I'll check out Seven Impale and some stuff in that 2nd sig (I know some of it)

As I say - great to see a nice active forum. The "discussion" bit ks what's lacking from modern social media
