Three classic Live 3 LP sets from 1973, 1974 and 1975. While there are certainly some production issues on each, which one wins overall in the three big categories.

1 - Song Selection
2 - Performance
3 - Production

And yes, I realize took some liberties including Lotus as a Prog album when it's Jazz/Fusion but I couldn't think of another one from that era.

Yessong easily. No contest here. One of my first "big" live records I ever heard...

Me too. I must've been 14 years old or so when I had it; a Christmas present from my parents. So it has a special place for me...

Lotus by quite a vast margin. Santana's finest release ever imho.

I'm going to have to make it Yes v ELP as I don't have the Santana album

1 Song Selection - Yes without doubt! ELP did not include much of the Trilogy album which is a shame. The Endless Enigma especially is missing but Yes don't miss anything out!
2 Performance - I'm going to give this to ELP for Tarkus and Take A Pebble which I believe made ELP the premier live prog band of the time
3 Production - ELP again as the dynamics are still intact if a tad muddyish and I prefer KE9 soundwise on the live album to the studio version. I really don't like the production on Yessongs which is so poor compared to the albums.

I prefer Yes to ELP generally but in this case ELP wins it.

Had high hopes for Yessongs and was let down very much. As for Welcome Back, it's my third favourite live album behind James Brown's Live At The Apollo and Metallica's S&M. Lotus is very good too.

If you liked Metallica's S&M, and want some good Yes live, you might enjoy the Symphonic live album/DVD... now, that's a wonderful way to do the orchestral additions to previous songs. I also enjoy Keys to Ascension more than Yessongs, which features the same line-up, but played in the 90's.

Welcome Back is the final truly great album of ELP's discography,. Plus I'm partial because I saw that tour at the World Series of Rock at Cleveland Stadium and it was AWESOME!

ELP for me. I got to see this tour. California Jam and Long Beach Arena. Good times. Good show. The Long Beach show had Journey as the opening act. Those were the days.

I guess from the era 'Glastonbury Fayre' was a triple live album but by various artists including Gong and Hawkwind but with some non-prog artists, which would dilute its consideration.  Actually, this was a tough poll but I went with ELP in the end for the sheer dynamism and energy as well as superlative live versions.
