^ & ^^ - I'm truly dumbfounded.................
I have an intense dislike for Annie Lennox, David A. Stewart and Eurythmics............I am honestly GOBSMACKED !! that these folks hooked up with Holger AND Jaki............
............obviously there's more to this revolutionary rhythmic duo............. (I did know Conny produced leading New-Wave acts) but never ever did/would/could I think they'd work with these prominent POP entities...............
I obviously DON'T know as much as I think..............

Conny was quite a sought-after producer for major 80's players - I never thought he'd work with such a group as Eurithmics - let alone get Kraut heroes Czukay & Liebezeit to help out their work. Man this is a stunning bit of news........(doesn't mean I'll dig Lennox anytime soon - always have, always will be repulsed by her sh*t........

Well I kinda dig Eurythmics myself but then again, I grew up with their music playing over the radio.
Annie Lennox has always reminded me of David Bowie, visually not musically. Something very androgynous about the both of them. Depending on make-up or lack thereof they can both look like a man or a woman.

^ I admire much of Bowie, I have a passionate dislike for Lennox, can't stand not one of the songs she sings. I am deeply sorry if I offend some folks here with that statement.
Holger & Jaki needed to make a living, I guess.......

Well, thanks.  This is why I'm here LOL
Before they sold out to Hollywood, Lennox & Stewart were quite avant-garde.  They were in a pre Eurythmics band called the Tourists.  Annie had worked on a one-off with Holger Czukay called Les Vampyrettes.  I played
both of these on my radio show SPACE PIRATE RADIO as import releases.  In the Garden was an import only before the suits at RCA USA had a clue.  Then came the signing and an attempt to reign them away from the oddness of their earlier work.  Hence the clash of values.  Interesting experimental work, or air-friendly, consumer oriented material.  Annie still had an artistic connection, which is why we got along.  When she introduced me to an RCA A&R wonk, she said "he was the first to play our stuff."  The white liner sniffed, "You and a dozen others." " No," she corrected.  "He played our early IMPORT stuff." 
 
Dave A., as I mentioned earlier, was already picking up on the Hollywood headiness.  You start out as artists for the sake of art, and their is some cool crossovers, but the money and prestige takes over, and their in lies
the choice one must make. 
 
I have a seemingly endless number of these Hollywood business stories and it is why I walked away from this industry of fertilizer with no growth potential. 
 
So yeah, Can cool.  Dave Stewart without the middle A.  Cool.  Smile

You can count me in on also not being a big fan of Space Shanty.  On the positive side it isn't one of those albums that I cringe at when it comes up in rotation.

What's with this 'Surveillance' LP ???
I even enjoy all those Locomotion and I'm In A Different World versions.....
.......not a patch on his work with Egg, Hatfield or Bruford ,,,,,,
............how can we expect to hear his fizzy Hammond things after Gradually Going Tornado ????
From my approach (whatever that is) - his 'Pop' works still have tongue-in-cheek humour and virtuosic skill involved. Just like Nick Beggs and Kajagoogoo. Whatever genre, if a musician is highly skilled, then FANTASTIC !!
