Truth be told, I can't remember any of them. It's strange because Incantations should be THE Oldfield album made for me - what with 4 loooong tunes and Pierre Moerlen behind the kit?!! Maybe I should dig it out again and see if my feelings haven't changed. I recently played Tubular Bells and Crises and was amazed by just how much I liked them.
Let me get back to you on this one. Btw nice touch getting the artist's name included in the thread title Darryl. |

Part Four for me. Part Two has those annoying and repetitive vocals for almost 10 minutes, that ruins for me an otherwise great album At least the reprise on Part Four is only one minute long.

Part 4. I really love the vocal section at the end of the song, which is the first I heard from the album because of a compilation album. When I heard the whole album and knew that part 2 had a very similar section at the end too, but longer, I thought that was going to be my favourite one, but with more listenings and getting more familiar with both pieces, I ended up feeling that on part 2 that section was rather overlong, and without the instrumental sections that make it sound so special on part 4. Also the rest of the music is better on part 4. The other part I really like on this album is part 1, with the vocal section of "Diana" being also really wonderful.

Part 3 is my favourite part of the album closely followed by Part 1. Part 2 is good mainly because of Maddy Prior while Part 4 underwhelms me a bit although its still very nice. I voted for Maddy!

..and yes I know that Maddy is on Part 4 as well ( before anyone points it out) but I just feel she is showcased more on Part 2.

to me the last 10 mins of part IV really salvage Incantations, even if Part 1 is rather nice

Crises is a fantastic 80's album. Per the poll question, I'd have to listen to it again as well. I do like this album, but the separate parts don't stand out from each other such that I could identify them without listening. |

For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night. |
