Good call Sonia - Gavin Harrison is one of the finest and most inventive drummers to surface in the last 15 years, even better than me! Robert Fripp knew what he was doing when he got him in Crimson.

First one me personally, not my thing, don't like it, it is more punk rock and I don't really like it. Second track I like more way more

That aside, I've always thought the drumming was stellar in both tracks and countless other Cardiacs tunes. "There's Good Cud" is from their last album, Guns, which also contains this little bouncy gem that's a million miles from punk. I love the variety of Guns.

Chris Cutler has yet to be mentioned. RIP LindsayCooper
Robert Wyatt is also worth noting. Non/Semi prog related drummers deserving of a mention: Simon Philips, Jonathan Mover, Jim Gordon, and Jeff Porcaro

This was their stage, it was perhaps the best concert I've ever seen! (dating back to LTIA, CTTE, TAAB etc. tours). |

Ha! You said it's not prog, I don't care what it is classified as, it's whoohaaa brilliant and to be honest most bands inc. prog bands do not have an amazing drummer, who double kicks ass, which is crucial to any band, the depth, the bottom end, the fab none annoying snare drum, the smack bam bum splash cymbals with sizzling echoes etc. I am amazed at your drumming, whatever you may call it, it's spot on exciting exhilarating brilliant! ha! hahagha wow! Nightfly, love it! Love you!

Of course it is not Bill Bruford, it is this guy here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhGuKbw2DE0 And a few of my other drumming favourites: (this could also be my favourite keyboard player or favourite bass player...) |
