Headlining this gig is one of the most accomplished bands to play at the bar, and a firm favourite of patrons far and wide. Heights are incredible musicians creating stunning soundscapes to end a night with, so we had to ensure that the supports were of a high calibre and we're proud to deliver a worthy line-up. Guildford-based Eschar have just released "Nova" which has been critically acclaimed left, right and centre. Bringing some kick to the night is Throatpunch City who we have proudly watched develop over the last couple of years and rounding off the line-up is the relatively new The Glowing Juniper. Having impressed us with their credentials every gig so far, this looks like a night for the eyes of geeks to glaze over quite contently.

Bands playing are:

Heights

Progressive instrumental three-piece Heights have been creating their subtle and intelligent compositions in a small room in Reading since 2006. There’s never been an agenda, big strategy or game plan - just three good friends with a love of writing interesting music.
However greatness can’t stay hidden forever; festival offers and higher profile gigs inevitably materialised, followed by a record deal with renowned forward thinking label Basick Records to release ‘Phantasia On The High Processions Of Sun, Moon And Countless Stars Above’.
Combining elements of prog rock, post rock, jazz and classical composition, Heights weave intricate nuances through textured soundscapes with a wonderful air of simplicity. Guitarist Al Heslop’s grand compositional vision, Bassist John Hopkins’ finesse and Jamie Postones’ natural groove become a luscious flow of sound that is both beautiful and deeply detailed.
Produced by guitarist Al, ‘Phantasia On The High Processions Of Sun, Moon And Countless Stars Above’ is full and majestic but also simple and raw; every pluck, slide and ghost note is crystal clear, as if you're sitting in the room with the band.
Their third record to date, ‘Phantasia On The High Processions Of Sun, Moon And Countless Stars Above’ is HEIGHTS' most adventurous effort yet.

Progressive Post-Rock/Metal

ESCHAR are a post-rock/metal band based in Woking, UK. They take influence from a variety of genres, fusing intricate riffs with delicate melodies and broad soundscapes, striving to create honest music that is both powerful and unique in equal measure.

Throatpunch City

A short, sharp jab to the jugular.
Prog Rock fidgeting from the scummy bits of Berkshire.

The Glowing Juniper

Blending progressive elements and post rock ambiance with their older influences of tech-metal, The Glowing Juniper is a sound which will appeal to many.
