Christina Booth I guess. There's probably a dozen or more female vocalists I'd take over this entire list.

These are all excellent singers in a technical sense, but I'm afraid they do nothing for me. In a similar vein, I think Rachel Cohen of The Reasoning should have been mentioned. I have seen both her and Iona's Joanne Hogg on stage, and their voices are impeccable.

My choice would be MoeTar's Moorea Dickason - a jazz-trained vocalist with incredible range, a true force of nature (and a lovely person to boot).

Heather Findlay. Her voice is haunting, and I really dig that.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

From this list, without a doubt Magenta's Christina Booth. Not only a terrific range, but she never oversings, and her voice is always full of warmth and great humanity.

As much as I don't mind the band, I oddly find all of the Mostly Autumn-related female singers here hugely unengaging. I know they've made the band visually more appealling, but while I find their voices certainly pretty, they're also hugely unemotional and don't move me at all.

Glad others dig them more, though.

Heather has done very little lately, so she is relying on back catalog. Helder is terrific and so is Sparnenn (who was amazing with Breathing Space). Harvest's Monique van der Kolk, Hayley Griffiths of Karnataka , Brooke Shelley (Resonaxis), Joanna Hogg and Christina Booth are all stunning .
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

The only reason I like Panic Room is because of the vocals.

All great singers but I'll go for Lee Douglas. I wish she took the lead a bit more in Anathema.

If Anneke Van Giersbergen had been listed I'd have voted for her though.

I've also voted for Lee Douglas - her vocals on Lightning song and Ariel are superb.

I think all the singers in the list are excellent but I too would have voted Joanne Hogg.

Right comment...in the list it's Heather Findlay.
Another who I think deserves a mention is Monique Van der Kolk singer of the Spanish band Harvest.

She's one of the best "prog rock" singers I've ever heard.
