Gnidrolog is in or near the center of the triangle of which Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant and Van der Graaf Generator are the cornerpoints. King Crimson is out of bounds here. I vote for VdGG here because Lady Lake is my favourite Track by Gnidrolog and Social Embarassment is a slow grower.

Indeed this one seems to be made so my head explodes. At least I can say that my choice is not Gentle Giant... even if I do enjoy some from them a lot (and some other things I rather dislike), but between Jethro Tull and King Crimson... and even VDGG, though it may be a bit less probable to get my vote, they are the one I currently feel more like coming back to, and have some things that are really at the same level as the other two bands... so I just can't vote at the time (though a band with Peter Hamill on vocals, David Jackson on Sax, Robert Fripp on guitar - who actually played with VDGG on some songs - and Ian Anderson on flute/vocals would have been something really awsome... perhaps get Chris Squire and Bill Bruford to make a dream team band indeed).

None of those are my absolute favourites ( ie top 5) but if I had to listen to a whole bunch of albums in one sitting by any of them then it would definitely be Gentle Giant.

For me.......... Crimson Tull Gentle Giant VDGG I pulled out the 5 VDGG albums I own: Least We Can Do, H To He, Pawn Hearts, Godbluff, Still Life....played them over a 2 day period on the way to the office. After all this time I still have a problem with Hammill's vocals and melodies. I'm a lost cause when it coms to these guys.
