^ I've got better things to worry about than the length of Steve Howe's hair. If he wants to wear it long, that's his business.

Well, I'm glad for those of you who still look like you're in your twenties, but I'm getting older myself so not in a position to cast stones. In any case, as long as he can still play the guitar, who cares?

In light of the news regarding Squire's condition, any chance of changing the thread title, perhaps?

Yes, heard from another thread in PA, prayers for sure.  Will be strange without Chris in the lineup for the latest tour.

Saw them in 2012 and enjoyed it quite well, even without the classic lineup.  As long as they are able and still enjoy playing, why not keep going until the end does come.  As a member of the ever growing "graybeards" clan myself, I tell my work manager that they are going to have to throw me out because I would rather do something I like until I can't anymore (instead of the dreaded "honey-do" list LOL).

Well if that puppet show was "Ziltoid" or "Dr. Steel" I would go see that show immediately.

Also I wouldn't belittle puppet shows. Some of them are pretty insane/creative. I honestly think a rock tour with 2 bands opening up for a theatre puppet show would be a killer tour.

When you're playing cruises and casinos (and your last album blows) it's time to stop.

Well who knows? Maybe they actually... Enjoy it?
Of course they enjoyed at the cruises. Maybe some of them dont like it for some reason - eg some people have an irrational fear of deep sea as same as other people have fear of flying with an airliner - but in general i dont see a valid reason for them to not enjoy in those cruisies.

Playing casinos? whats so big scandal with that? After all, they are profesional musicians and thats their job.

It would be great if all of our favorite bands could continue to release top grade music after 45+ years.  very few can even come close.  Isn't it enough that these guys care enough to still, for better or worse, release new material?  And that they still tour, and proudly play their old hits (what the majority of those in attendance want to hear)?

True, casinos have the reputation of showcasing artists and bands well past their prime.  But where else can these old warhorses perform in a full size theater in front of a packed house of devoted fans?

I for one, am glad that bands like Yes, Kansas, Styx and whoever else still exist and their music lives on.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I saw YES last year in Mainz/germany. They played three classic albums in full length:

The YES album
Close to the edge
Relayer

a very energetic performance, though Jon Davisson can not compete with Anderson's charisma on stage
setting poems to progressive metal
Listen to my music on bandcamp

Are we meant to infer from the title that it's "the end" for the progressive rock scene when the first generation of the genre's artists throw in the towel? I don't think genres really work like that, though prog rock isn't as much of a "cultural movement" as others.
