To me it's an undisputed masterpiece, though I feel as though I may be exaggerating. Nevertheless, I'm not looking to change my opinion, I'm just looking to hear what others have to say Smile

I'll also probably post a Fountain of Salmacis vs. Ripples... depending on how this turns out.

Somewhere between options #2 and #3, but a bit closer to #2.

A good song, but there are six others on A Trick of the Tail that I like more.

At times, I absolutely love the feel (plus the chords are genius), but it's not in the same league as "Dance On A Volcano" or "Mad Man Moon", and it's inferior to so many Gabriel-led tracks Ermm

I have to go with option 2. It is a very pretty piece of music, longest track on the album. I really love every second of ATOTT.

I enjoy it a lot.  A masterpiece?  No. Great for singing along with in the car, though.

Lovely song, perhaps the best one from A Trick of the Tail.

Lovely song, though not quite a masterpiece..

The middle section is classic Genesis.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I used to truly enjoy this song, but Phil Collins' solo work and Phil Collins' Genesis just ruined me for almost anything that features this man's vocals upfront, notable exceptions being More Fool Me and his work on Anthony Phillips' "Geese & Ghost".  For whatever reason, whenever I hear Collins singing in his usual style, I think of the word "sellout"

Guitar synth interplay is masterpiece---used to wonder why Yes never took this Hackett/Banks approach----so I voted near masterpiece--option 2.

Nice song but frankly never thought much about it over the years.
A bit too easy going maybe and a standard mellow Genesis  track imho.

First of all love Ripples.A Masterpiece!
Second I can understand where your coming from when you think of PC the word "sellout" comes to mind.I personally like PC as a vocalist/musician,but as a person i find him to be rather irritating, and a little bit up himself!Over countless interviews I've very rarely heard him say "Thanks for all fans of Genesis who have supported me during my career!" Indeed he seems to give the impression that being a member of G was something of a chore, and he has very little time for the past! If it wasn't for those early years in G where would PC be now? GET OVER IT PHIL!

I quite like it, very nice...

The guitar lead is a masterpiece. I'm not sure what Hackett's doing to get that sound. I always presumed he was using a volume pedal and muting the strings at the end of the note swell. Not sure if anyone else knows with more certainty. The rest is a lovely song that goes on maybe twice as long as it should.
