So far my AOTY.

Hey that sounds good, I shall listen right away (haha "who're")

I actively seek out a lot of new prog releases and I have to say for 2015 so far a clear stand out for me has been Eidos from the Italian band Kingcrow. Also most tracks on the album are decent not just one or two - check them out!

Other notables not mentioned in earlier posts:
Izz - Everlasting Instant
Arcane - Known/Learned
Nordic Giants - A séance of dark delusions
Tony Patterson - Northlands
Eric Baule - Revelations Adrift
Not a good sign - From a distance
Progression by Failure - Sonic Travelogue
Sylvan - Home

Last but not least, Beardfish +4626-COMFORTZONE

Although not quite 2015 I do want to call out an album from late last year - Soen Tellurian, my favourite album in the last 12 months, definitely going to be a metal classic.

Gorgeous flutters of electronic music over small bumping matchstick rhythms.........and then the Indian woman starts wailing - I just can't seem to get enough of thisLOL

What did you think of it? I think I've spun it twice a day the last 48 hours. It's a keeper!

A keeper it is! Almost up there with the FBs and, well, you know that's pretty high.

Had my second listen to Elephant9's new one today. Their best album to date, IMO. They've really taken it up a notch with this one! Along with Jaga Jazzist and Motorpsycho/Storløkken, one of the standout releases of '15 for me so far.

According to the venue where they will hold their release concert on Thursday they were going to release two new albums "soon", but it's been quiet about the second one since the release of Silver Mountain. Hope that second one still comes to fruition. Anyway, with Motorpscycho's upcoming studio album, as well as new albums from Panzerpappa, Møster!, Jono El Grande and Shining soon to be released, this is shaping up to be a great year for Norwegian prog!

I have not heard most of the albums here on P.A.'s list, therefore making a comparison does not seem fair. However of those  I heave heard that are on the list this year, these are my top favorites so far:

I'll through my proverbial hat into the ring on this. This has been a great year for music so far, but not as much in the prog front.

Prog/proggish picks:
Steven Wilson (shocker, I know)
Mew - + -
Kaddisfly - Horses Galloping on Sailboats
Everything Everything - Get to Heaven
Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
Bjork - Vulnicura
Timbre - Sun & Moon
Sannhet - Revisionist
CHON - Grow
Beardfish - +4626-Comfortzone
Between the Buried and Me - Coma Elliptic (First album I've really liked by them)

Others:
Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit
Ava Luna - Infinite House
Hop Along - Painted Shut
FFS - FFS
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like sh*t, I Don't Go Outside
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell
Lupe Fiasco - Tetsuo and Youth
Wilco - Star Wars
Susanne Sundfor - Ten Love Songs
mewithoutYou - Pale Horses
Lil Ugly Mane - Third Side of Tape

Hey, O666 is here again :-)

So far it's hard to announce a winner for this year - and there's more to come. In no particular order these are some of the good ones I've heard:

Echolyn - I heard you listening
Corvus Stone - Corvus Stone Unscrewed
Amadeus Awad - Death is just a Feeling
Franck Carducci - Torn Apart
Tiger Moth Tales - Story Tellers Pt 1
The Tangent - A Spark In the Aether
Gekko Project - Reyna of Titan
ISKC Rock Radio
I stopped blogging and reviewing - so won't be handling requests. Promo's for ariplay can be sent to [email protected]
