Ditto. At  least now amazon recognizes that a CD only version exists...

I'm going to have to dig through this thread in the upcoming weeks...I honestly don't know how many albums I've heard from 2015.

Very nice list there Audun and quite a few I will be looking into myself. That Møster album is bound to end up on my doorstep at some point.
Great to see Elephant9 at the top. It will most likely be my AOTY unless something crazy happens (I develop a sudden taste for prog metal fx).

Just got the new Hooffoot and necromonkey albums and they too are bound to end up at the very top. Show me where it Hertz proves that it's perfectly possible to pay homage to the old Berlin School pioneers without sounding like a complete rip-off and furthermore add some real twang of their own.
Hooffoot is vinyl only (although there might be something about an upcoming cd release) and a FLAC download......but it is worth it you guys!! Wow this album is smoking!

Møster!'s latest is sublime. If they can get on PA in time it'll probably be album numero uno for me. If not, the honour will probably go to E9.

Now I'm in the process of investigating my latest batch of 2015 albums. Was very impressed with Magma's Slaǧ Tanƶ when I heard it for the first time last night. Tonight it's time for the latest from Guapo, Zs and Zombi.

Btw, did you ever get to check out Krokofant? Their latest is even better than their debut from last year, IMO. Give them a listen if you haven't, you won't regret it. Oh, and John (Mellotron Storm) did a really good review of their debut, cumpolsory reading, of course. Wink

Update (added):

Quote For me this year is dominated by two albums that took some time in the making, but worth waiting for.

These are above all others:
Anekdoten - Until All the Ghosts Are Gone
Nice Beaver - The Time It Takes
Alejandro Matos - La Potestad

-o0o-

Some other excellent ones that should be mentioned here:
Cailyn - Voyager
La Coscienza di Zeno - La Notte Anche il Giorno
IOEarth - New World
District 97 - In Vaults
Battlestations - The Extent of Damage

-o0o-

Some other goodies:
Big Big Train - Wassail
Red Jasper - The Great and Secret Show
The Psychedelic Ensemble - The Sunstone
Unreal City - Il Paese del Tramonto
The Tangent - A Spark in the Aether
Roz Vitalis - Lavoro d'Amore
Seven Reizh - La Barque Ailée
Corvus Stone - Corvus Stone Unscrewed
Profusion - Phersu
Perhaps - Third

-o0o-

Overrated:
Steven Wilson - Hand.Cannot.Erase.

The list is not complete, except for the upper two categories.

Deantoni Parks, who was the last drummer for The Mars Volta (on Noctourniquet), as well as a frequent collaborator with John Cale, Flying Lotus, Meshell Ndegeocello, etc, has released an album called Technoself, which is streaming here. It's all him playing drums with his feet and left hand, while playing keys/triggering samples with the right, like he did in Volta spinoff band Bosnian Rainbows, but it's pushed much much further here. It's all live or live in studio, no loops. Check it out if you like experimental electronic music of sorts.

I listened to the debut last year and really dug what I was hearing. Haven't purchased it though for some reason...and I've even had a few Runegrammofon hauls since.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the new one. Definitely going to investigate.

I like Sl*g Tanz but I'd rather listen to the originalBig smile

Btw what's the best way of going about wooing Norwegian chicks? A new substitute started in the kindergarten I'm currently working in. I was thinking about doing something quirky with my beard (which by now has reached monstrous mass), but I wanted to check with an inside man, who also happens to be a beard connoisseur, before venturing any further.

The new Sunn O))) was pretty good. Nothing new for them, but probably their most melodic album insofar as melody is possible with them.

^ I like that they have tunes you can hum along to...if you're a Tuvan throat singer with the lung capacity of a blue whale.
