There seems to be a deficit of positivity in modern prog. Depression and darkness rules. Only a few bands/artists shine some light e.g. Moon Safari, Neal Morse.

There used to be a discussion about heavy uplifting prog. Early Rush and Angra are fine examples that shine brightly.

Can someone recommend me some more uplifting bands/albums?

Spock's Beard and Kaleidoscope are quite up beat.
This message was brought to you by a proud supporter of the Deep State.

Well I know listening to Triumph always make me feel good about myself in comparison (not sure if that's the kind of 'uplifting' you're looking for though). Big smile
Salem Hill, Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse, Kerry Livgren are all in the Neal Morse vein.  Ezra isn't particularly prog but their albums are pretty upbeat (except some parts of Big Smiley Sun which are a little bit of a buzz-kill).  And the guy from U I Blue seems pretty irrepressibly positive about life in general.

IMHO After Crying is a pretty uplifting band if you're into symphonic stuff.

If all else fails toss on some early ELO, that should get your toe tapping and put a smile on your face.

^ I second the Steve Morse and Kerry Livgren recommendations. Consider checking out Livgren's band Proto-Kaw as well.

Some of Big Big Train's recent releases have been very upbeat, especially English Electric Pt. 1 and their newest EP. Fair warning, though: their earlier stuff was usually drenched in melancholy, so you might want to avoid anything earlier than 2010.

Presto Ballet (at least, PB's first two albums - the only ones I own) may do the trick as well. Bright, energetic poppy pomp-rock with a vintage 70s feel, with lots of cues taken from Yes, ELP, Kansas and Styx.

Glass Hammer also tend towards the lighter side of the spectrum; check out their album If, if you haven't already.
