Yes, and there's a transgender member here too.

Several in fact, it's just that Queen By-Tor is the most active of them.

hey prog is all about diversity, if we love Hobbits and all but Pink Unicorns thus why not the transgender community, they are, unlike many of us, sizzling hot and really awesome Approve besides this topic bores me because it feels like we are discussing different species or so which is ridiculous at this dane age, really! Pinch
I feel embarrassed myself now.

Looking forward to more songs about Hobbits, pink unicorns, narcissistic flowers, gentle giants, flying teapots, swimming saucers etc.
Micky, when out of bed, will present us with 64 more modern prog albums about likewise subjects in his polls.

Are the Baldies still around?? They were more surprising than the few gays that are around this site... I mean before they got in here, I was the only lesbian around (albeit a male one << only sleep with the fair sexEmbarrassedLOL)

On we go with the big clichés: women are already rather rare in prog circles....  let alone when they pair-up ... and then fondle & diddle each other to prog music. That must be quite a sight!! ConfusedStarLOL

AFAIK, we've even got at least one special colab that is gay

having a moustache  does not mean you are gay, David Byron had one too and he looked like a hot gay porn star, anyway who cares Big smile He is one of the best vocalists to date!

AFAIK, one of the main trait to being metrosexual is to get rid of all hairs other than the one around your skull.

And Rush were too hairy to fit the future metrosexual craze... despite that their weird kimono sh*t had us teens wondering about their orientation... Something nobody even questionned with the cross-town buddies that dressed much weirder than Rush did: Max Webster

Haven't seen the Baldies a long time on the site. Miss them a bit. Very colourful people.

Metrosexual = Someone who can only have sex with a click track in the background.

this was exactly my point (what GKR said). I really don't have too much of an opinion of it myself to be honest, I was more wondering what everyones reactions was too this question. Alot of interesting answers and some troll like ones too. Although this question was meant for a discussion, I wasn't favoring any side of the debate...but its still an interesting thought.

If people found out my sexuality, their first opinion of me possibly maybe "he watches RuPaul drag race and loves Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Cher and Britney Spears (for some reason "gay" icons are mostly women)." But I'm the more watches documentaries and listens to Genesis.

I have a lot friends in the LGBT community, but I must admit I've never really found out whether or not they're into prog. I usually meet them at underground electronic gigs and festivals, which often have a very understanding and open relationship to sexuality.
I do know a couple of transgendered folks who are heavily into modern progressive electronic like F*ck Buttons, Flying Lotus, Ochre, Boards of Canada and the likes....maybe I should introduce them to some Klaus Schulze and see if I can make him a sort of gateway into Krautrock for then finally to slap on some KC
Nahh maybe not. Every time we meet we're too involved in the dancing and drinking and beeeep to start a regular convertion into prog.

Oh almost forgot; I got an old friend of mine + a dozen of his, who just so happens to be gay, into Manuel Göttsching's beautiful chessboard album (E2 E4). That was actually during a party, where I snuck it in while the DJ was too busy sniffing a table.

really no debate to be had... you got the answer early on in the thread.  Straight or gay.. either you like prog or you don't.  Sexuality doesn't have a damn thing to do with it.

A more interesting when it comes to musical dispositions.. yet infinity more touchy question is ... racial?  Especially here in the states.

and don't forget Bette Midler HeartClap Most?.. I can't think of single male gay icon off the top of my head. Perhaps that guy that was a swimmer for the US whose name escapes me.

You dated David Bowie?

I am impressed.

And appalled.  The guy is old enough to be your grandfather.

In my travels, I have known (and performed in prog bands with) gay people, blacks, Hispanics, women, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, Christians, atheists, Scientologists...

I think music has few boundaries.

Hell.  Even rap embraced Vanilla Ice.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
