Many people have their different thoughts on what exactly is the best Floyd album. Every album has some sort of differentiation from the last, making for a unique discography that has different elements  for every album.

What's your favorite?

Pink Floyd were never an obsession or a phase for me, like they were for music/prog fans since their inception - not sure why honestly. I always connected more with Genesis, VdGG, and King Crimson. So there are albums that i dislike, love, haven't heard, etc. The one album, though, that has always been played by me, and has always struck me as the magnum opus of the band is Animals.

Not sure why honestly, the things that stick out to me could be easily used to describe any of their bigger, more praised albums. It has this electricity behind it all that is infectious.

So that is were my vote goes.

Wish You Were Here, bit DSOTM should win this poll handily.

I don't know - of all the PF Discog polls, Wish You Were Here and Animals both give it trouble iirc.

Animals. Easy choice.

It's a bit raw, very dark and lyrically brilliant.

Dogs is one of my favourite songs of all time.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Exactly the reason I made it. Variety. LOL

I like Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and Animals the most...

I voted for Meddle for no particular reason.

I've grown to think Floyd are somewhat overrated over the years....that's not to say I don't like them ...I do (Gilmore 's melodic guitar playing was always the best thing about them imho)
DSOTM is still their finest moment imho though I rarely play it anymore. WYWH is a close second for me and I have never understood all the love for Animals....a dark record that is simply not that pleasant to listen to .
If someone forced me to keep only one Floyd album...it would prolly be Meddle....a sentimental favorite from my college days. It brings back many good memories.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

For me, Obscured by Clouds is the best overall album they made.

Meddle, Animals and DSOTM are also very good.

Obscured By Clouds is indeed the best. What's your favorite song from it?

I like most of them, but Childhood's End is my pick.
