Oh c'mon, I know you have a selective deafness for all things Genesis-related but Phaedra really does not have any sort of clear quality edge over PG 3. Much as Biko is a bit wretchedly overwrought, there's a hell of a lot of trail being blazed on this one. Phaedra's a fine album, not as biting as Rubycon and not doing as much stuff as dynamically as PG 3, though.

Besides which Melt is nothing like Genesis.  It's the very antithesis of Genesis  - abrasive, hard and not very melodic on the whole.  Brilliant album.
