One of the greatest jazz pianists and composers of our generation John Taylor,a British jazz pianist born 25 September 1942 died 17th of July 2015.
Less than two weeks ago,Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea were leaving the Barbican stage in London to a standing ovation for their free-spirited piano partnership, and the rich shared experiences that fuelled it.The show spurred reflections on how widespread the two Americans’ influence – and that of fellow citizens Keith Jarrett,McCoy Tyner and Brad Mehldau – has been on jazz piano methods over the past 40 years. But in the wake of the death of the much-loved British pianist John Taylor, following a heart attack onstage in Segré,north-west France, aged 72,a different thought surfaces.

RIP
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

A legend of the British jazz scene. Thinking of his family and friends. Sad news.

First Kenny Wheeler and now John Taylor.....and Norma just won UK jazz vocalist of the year.  The ladies always live longer.  Play your Azimuth albums in tribute.....I wish I still had the one with Ralph Towner.  Taylor had that light touch that takes you off into the ether.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

^^

He's hardly the first to pass away from that scene... A few years back, we had Carr, Barrick, Collier and a few others all passing away within months of each other

RIP JohnCry
