As there's quite a bit of interest in solo albums by Pink Floyd members at the moment,(Amused to Death re release,Gilmour's new solo soon)I thought it would be an idea to find out which solo album by PF members do you prefer? Which one "rocks your boat"amongst those listed? Just choose one.

This was an easy pick: Syd's debut.

I also enjoy the Gilmour debut and Amused to Death, but they're nowhere near The Madcap Laughs.

What I've heard of Ficticious Sports though sounded pretty interesting.

Barrett is my fave. I like the Madcap Laughs and Gilmour's first as well. I don't like the rest.

Barrett for me, just edging out Madcap.  Such a wonderful little album.

I don't much like the other's solo stuff.   They were far superior when working as a team, even if it was a dysfunctional team.

Dysfunctional teams are always inspiring
...just ask Fleetwood Mac.

Right on David.   I think Tusk is their finest Buck/Nicks moment and it was 100% massive dysfunction.  LOL

Exactly. I seem to remember reading about the dysfunctional situation in Floyd during the recording of Animals. Just so happens to be one of their best imo.

The first Gilmour album, closely followed by Broken China.  I like Gilmour's other two albums as well.  My favorite from Waters is Amused to Death.  As said before, no solo album by any of them has risen to the heights they hit when they were still functioning together.  Some good albums, but not even close.

I like the 3 Gilmour albums very much and I actually quite like Profiles (great fan of Rick Fenn) but the rest leave me completely cold.

First off, Profiles is very lightweight, and I'm surprised Gilmour even sang on that one song on it. Amused to Death and 'Pros and Cons' are practically unlistenable (in most cases, I'd rather undergo root canal surgery than have to put up with Waters' voice). Oddly enough with that said, I'll give it to an underdog here, Radio Kaos, due to there being some kind of spectacle to the affair.

Even though I'd like to give my vote to Broken China, that isn't getting much love, I just can't vote against Amused to Death.
