Topic: Best Prog songs of 2015...So far? Posted: July 27 2015 at 11:02 |
I'm aware that hunting for individual prog songs in an album haunted genre runs counter intuitive, but I've got two musicophile friends who wish to sample the state of 2015 prog...Song by song. If you good people of progarchives will provide me with your favorite, best, prog rock songs of 2015, I would appreciate it...Feel free to suggest mixed CD's that you would make, consisting entirely of 2015 prog.

An easy choice for me is Steven Wilson's Ancestral. Tough question, since I am still pretty new to PA and find plenty of older material (mostly post 2000) to grab my attention. The only other 2015 purchase for me is Kamelot's 'Haven" and no track has especially jumped out at me yet for this.

I've had heavy play from these two tracks this year, definitely the best of their respective albums and definitely on my favorite list for 2015

Out of the ones I've heard so far this year, I'd say:
Agusa - Kung Bores Dans Steven Wilson - Regret 9 John Carpenter - Obsidian Pond - Man It Feels Like Space Again Public Service Broadcasting - Sputnik Turzi - Cygne Todd Rundgren, Emil Nikolaisen and Lindstrøm - Wave Of Heavy Red (Disko-Nektar)
I'll probably get back to you with some more after I better acquaint myself with the new Jaga Jazzist, Ozrics and most likely Guapo, Dungen, elephant9 and a bunch of others that I can't remember right at this moment. The sofa exploded you see.

Keep the songs coming guys! It took me a few hours but I listened to every suggestion. I already knew the Leprous and Steven Wilson stuff. I liked everything zravkapt suggested. I also I liked Pond, Turzi, Arcane, Echolyn, and Anekdoten.
