Hey everyone... just wanted to share with you a piece I've been working on. Even though I've already constructed the ending of the piece, I'm continuing to add more meat to the rest of it. It's heavily inspired by jazz and Japanese classical music. Enjoy!

Liked it a lot. Nice work man.

Only critique i have is i don't think the title reflects the music.

Otherwise - sharp!
Crushed like a rose in the riverflow.

Not really a rag because it doesn't rely much on syncopation, but it has that sort of feel nevertheless. This rather appeals to me. Good work and thank you for sharing. I didn't detect the Japanese element, though, I'll listen again later.

I really dig what you wrot, Especially bars 21 - 30, I think it has a Jazz/Ragtime feel to it. I don't think it sounds like Japanese classical or actually not much of any classical influence at all. Two Thumbs up from me

I enjoy the ragtime feel it brings, though I agree with everyone saying that I don't hear much of a Japanese influence (which is not a bad thing, anyway). Pretty well-composed, I like it, very uplifting sound!
I like coffee and crazy time signatures. Halfdream is my instrumental progressive metal/post-rock project.
