I'd say bill bruford is the best, but I'd prefer to listen to two guys not mentioned  John "Pugwash" Weathers and Alan White, because they played drums on most of my favorite albums.

Probably Bru but I do love me some Palmer, one of those on-the-edge guys when rock was more about heart than precision.
Peart is more machine than man, and Mike Annoy, I mean Portnoy, is a bit of a w**ker.

Peart and Portnoy.As much as like Mike Mangini,Dream Theater still miss MP.However this is beneficial to both Transatlantic and Neal Morse who now have the services of MP full time!

From what I've read, John Bonham felt the same way about who was on top. As for me, Buford and Collins rule the roost.
