Sorry but a bit pointless, dude, even Rush the Great can't compete with Zeppelin the Mighty.

Zeppelin. The production on Exit... Stage Left always sounded muddy to me.

Here's where Rush leads the day.  They are a much better live band than Zeppelin, who relied on lots of multitracked guitars on their recordings.  As well, Robert Plant's voice cannot do on stage what it did in the studio.

Rush are in a different league live.

I saw Zep twice live in the 70s: lots of energy and Plant was a great front man though he couldn't quite reproduce his studio performance, but Jimmy Page was quite sloppy. I've never seen a "virtuoso" make so many mistakes (and on both occasions).

I saw Rush twice in the mid 70s (when they were just a hard rock band) and they were amazing - flawless musicianship and much less horrible crotch posing!

Zep
Page definately makes a lot more mistakes than most other legends, that is his trademark. But that dosent change the fact, that Zep rules.

I saw Led Zeppelin once, at Knebworth '79, and I was dissapointed.

Well it shouldn't be. I don't pay large sums to have a decorator paint my house badly, so why should I pay good money to watch a guitarist who can't play correctly?

How the West Was Won is far better than Zep's other live offering The Song Remains the Same, both in song selection and sound. Needless to say, it is also better than Rush.
