I remember there was a blog somewhere that featured psychedelic music and I mentioned somewhere that I felt that "Apples And Oranges" was kind of a dry run for the later "Octopus". Any thoughts on this and which song do you prefer?

"Apples and Oranges" is quite raw and fierce. Can't say the same of "Octopus", so I voted for the former.

Neither are songs that I enjoy. Perhaps if it had been Astronomy Domine VS Arnold Layne or Interstellar Overdrive.

Yeah, I love this songs too. However, I love Dominoes more on Gilmour's live version from the "On Concert" DVD.
