Best prog metal band along with Voivod. Much better than Dream Theater. My fav album is The Spectre within but Awaken the Guardian is a close second.

Said band rules.

Awaken The Guardian is my personal fave.

My favourite Metal band. Perfect Symmetry, Awaken The Guardian and Disconnected are my top three in no particular order. All so different from one another but all 5 star albums in my opinion. Love "A Twist Of Fate" by John Arch as well wiith Portnoy on drums.

The No Exit–Perfect Symmetry–Parallels–Inside Out arc is grand. The songs are fantastic, Ray Alder's singing is unbelievably good, Jim Matheos' guitar artistry is stellar, and then the band boasted one of the best rhythm sections in metal in drummer Mark Zonder (who started on Perfect Symmetry) and bassist Joe DiBiase.

Required listening for anyone who considers themselves a fan of prog-metal.

First three albums are quite good, never really warmed to the stuff after John Arch left. Their masterwork Awaken the Guardian takes a long while to really "click", I think it is more or less where they become more and something else than an exceptionally ambitious power metal group.

I second the opinion that Fates Warning is a great band. I like how subtle yet still pretty sophisticated they can be (Parallels and Inside Out).

I love No Exit, but I still need to hear the rest of their stuff.
