Theres no need for an introduction we all know Toto, mostly for their poppier albums. With hits like "Africa", "Hold the Line", "Rosanna". Heres just a brief Bio I ve taken from wikipedia just in case.
"Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Van Nuys in Los Angeles, California. The band's current lineup consists of Joseph Williams (lead vocals), David Paich (keyboards, vocals), Steve Porcaro (keyboards), Steve Lukather (guitars, vocals), David Hungate (bass) and Shannon Forrest (drums). Toto is known for a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B , blues, and jazz." Heres a link to their official website: http://totoofficial.com/ Toto has always shown signs of progressive rock in their music, since the 80s and has gone unleashed with Simon Phillips arrival in the 90s. There last two records have a lot of Fusion and even metal! I 'll just leave some videos: From "Tambu" in 95: From "Mindfields" in 99: From "Falling in Between" in 06: And their last record out this year: Havent listened too much from the eighties tough, but they sure have some prog going around hah. |

If you search for Toto on this site you'll see how many of these threads we've had in the past - and they've never been close.
Also, it's only collaborators who can suggest acts for Prog Related. Great AOR band but they don't belong on PA imo. |

A quick search shows around 8 or 9 previous suggestions of Toto, so I doubt it's going to work this time.

Every 6 months to 1 year we have a new suggestion post about TOTO or Judas Priest or ... . I think PA forum should have a system to stop this kind of problems. I don't know about forum's software. Maybe its not possible in this time.

Some of the topics do are left open.
There were two Martin Barre topics without conclusion untill he go on to be evaluated by some team (Crossover in the case). Maybe the topics have to had a "final decision" something like that... |
