No words can describe how stupid that lyric is. I think just that one lyric shows why Rush can't and shouldn't rap.
Why? It's a synonym to the word "Ass". It's supposed to be a jokey intelligent rap, Geddy doing it via a vocoder, rather than having a guest rapper...

And it contains the wonderful lyrics:

"A night has a thousand saxophones".

This is the period where Rush definitely slipped a lot for me, but still delivered some great songs rather than great albums...

Kid Gloves
Between the Wheels
The Big Money
Territories
Half the World
The Color of Right
Carve Away the Stone

...and my fave song from '84 -> '96

Dog Years Wink

ahhhh...  Raff and my theme song...

Ghost of a Chance..

for our story was a miracle, in addition to a fairy tale and something out of a goddmaned Lifetime movie

tall tales my ass..  that has been my life.  Nothing normal....  the stuff of others dreams, fantasies, as well as cheap novels and cable movies.

and we celebrate our 10 year anniversery in December Heart.. how times flies

From this time I really love Counterparts, and like the Test for Echo and Roll the Bones. The rest is not for me. Top songs:

1. Between Sun & Moon (!!! probably the best composition of canadians)
2. Animate
3. Test for Echo
4. Stick it Out
5. Neurotica
6. Half the World
7. Roll the Bones
8. Cut to the Chase
9. Leave that Thing Alone
10. Ghost of a Chance

No songs, unless 'Grace Under Pressure' is included (my stopping point with the band). Then, in that case, the snappy fun 4th song, which I can't remember the name at the moment. "Suspicious looking stranger..." Enemy Within?

This wasn't my favorite Rush era, but some of the songs I liked from this time period would be:

Distant Early Warning
Red Sector A
The Enemy Within
Afterimages
Show Don't Tell
Dreamline
Roll the Bones
Where's My Thing
Nobody's Hero

I'm admittedly not as familiar with this era of the band but I'll list some anyway. In no order:

1. Emotion detector
2. Distant Early Warning
3. Roll the Bones
4. War Paint
5. Between The Wheels
6. Marathon
7. Turn the Page
8. Force Ten
9. Red Tide
10. Between Sun & Moon (could be almost any other song on that album too though)

Damn! Available Light didn't make it into my baker's dozen.  But it should have!  So underrated. Marvelous song and one of Geddy's best vocals.

Forthwith, my list:

The Big Money
Manhattan Project
Marathon
Mystic Rhythms
Show Don’t Tell
Dreamline
Scars
Time Stand Still
Force Ten
Turn the Page
Stick It Out
Animate
Cut to the Chase
Prime Mover

… and the transcendental Tai Shan

Great band! One of my favorites for sure.

My apologies that nothing from Test for Echo made it onto the list. I’m not a big fan of Roll the Bones, Test for Echo, or anything after Vapor Trails.

My favorite time period of Rush is between A Farewell to Kings and Power Windows, which covers part of this period. I tend to view their work as falling within different ranges. 1. Rush, 2. Fly by Night through 2112, 3. A Farewell to Kings through Moving Pictures, 4. Signals to Power Windows, 5. Hold Your Fire to Roll the Bones, and then 6. Counterparts onward.

So, to my ears, we’re comparing apples and oranges a bit with one full range and 2 parts of ranges, according to my thought process.

With Rush, I tend to favor the songs that have a driving beat and an interesting riff or chord progression without a lot of fluff.

Atop the list, The Big Money definitely has the most interesting riff courtesy of Geddy Lee and as he sings whilst playing it, he deserves a Prog Medal of Prowess. Manhattan Project has that creative arpeggiated riff of Alex Lifeson and thoughtful didactic lyrics on Neil Peart.

I sure miss those guys.

^ Test For Echo seems to get a bad rap , I assume because of its Grungy sound. I think these are all great songs:
Test for Echo
Driven
Half The World
Dog Years
Resist

I like Roll The Bones as well although not as much.

I do like your picks from Power Windows though.Thumbs Up
