I read somewhere that Fripp wanted to record a Discipline 2 and Discipline 3 instead of Beat and TOAPP. Does this idea entice you?

hmmmm, not really. Fripp should probably elaborate on that statement if one ever asks him about it again.

The three albums does come as three of a perfect pair.

Never really cared for Beat or Three......I do listen to Discipline now and then.

Anything might have been better than Beat probably.

As much as i love Discipline - the constant changing and evolution in KC's sound every album is what makes them so remarkable.

Plus Beat and Three are fantastic anyways so why take them from us? Now if Fripp made a Discipline 2.0 any year now - i'd go crazy. Cool

No I wouldn't be interested in Discipline 2 and 3.

I'm not too fond of Talking Heads, but I still think there 'Fear of Music' surpassed Discipline a million times over. Never understood the praise Discipline gets, but that's just me.

It didn't seem to bring anything new or interesting to the table. The only good takes on Discipline were Matte and Sheltering Sky.

Oh yeah, the topic.. Discipline was an experiment, and best that it was only attempted once.

I always considered Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair to be Discipline 2 and 3. And the sequels are seldom as good as the original, although in this case the sequels are pretty good.

Intriguing possibility.  I wonder how they would differ from the albums actually released.

Um, so it was an experiment in not bringing anything new to the table?

I can't find anything wrong with the first side of Beat. The second side I usually skip.

It was an experiment for King Crimson because they've never done anything like it before. Each of the Crimson albums had slight similarities, but Discipline was Crimson off their rocker. A completely different entity than what came before.

Loved Discipline, and would of course be interested in a 2 and 3.  Even though I seem to be the only one. Clap

Not heard of a Discipline 2 and 3 before. Further and better particulars required I think. Yes, love to hear what this band conjures up. Love the others plus the live album(s)  and anything '80s Crim really. (And the rest but this is the relevant era).
